WHO WE ARE

The farm Pachamama is located at the TEPOLINO farm in Castel del Piano (Grosseto) and follows the principles of Permaculture. The Tepolino Farm (about 11 hectares at 500 meters above sea level) is located a few kilometers away from Castel del Piano. The village is five minutes away by car, or on foot, about half an hour.

There are two houses at the end of a driveway in a rare oasis of peace, silence, serenity, meditation and space, without neighbors in the immediate vicinity. If you look no further, the only risk is to see a deer, a boar, a badger, a weasel, a fox, a porcupine, a heron ... or other similar residents with permanent rights. The area is dominated to the east by the sacred mountain of the Etruscans: Mount Amiata (1700 m), the extinct volcano that stands imposing and protective in all its beauty. It is home - among others – to one of the largest beech forests in Europe. On the west there is a spectacular view over the Orcia valley. To the north there is a wonderful forest of chestnut trees and large boulders that inspired intriguing fantasies. To the south, there is Castel del Piano, Monte Giovi and Mount Laterone.

Pollution from artificial light is minimal, which allows very good contemplation of the starry night, disturbed only by the croaking of frogs and fireflies. Tepolino Farm offers several walks, including excursions of a naturalistic or historic interest, as well as oeno-gastronomic tourism.

WHAT WE DO

The Pachamama Farm:

  • The farm produces an excellent extra virgin olive oil from monoculture “Seggianese”, chestnuts, some medicinal plants and, at the venue in Castelvetro of Modena, a very old balsamic vinegar produced by traditional method. The cooked must comes only from Trebbiano grapes and has been aged in the hills of Castelvetro in a series of barrels for more than 50 years).
    Typical products

  • Pachamama offers courses and seminars on various topics, from permaculture, to Homeopathic Medicine (with the collaboration of Dr. Massimo Mangialavori), Medical Anthropology, Yoga and more.
    Cultural activities

  • A beautiful stone house for weekly or week-ends rental.

We have a stone house that we rent on a weekly or week-ends basis. Consider the option of a last-minute holiday. We are connected with other local farms that offer holidays for groups of guests willing to stay a short distance from their friends.
